 Previous Chapter Meetings
 December 16th, 2009
At our December chapter meeting, attorney and gold member David Hiersekorn shared some valuable insights he has learned form his association with Glazer-Kennedy. By being actively involved with others in his industry, he has been able to determine what estate planners need and want. From there, he went into his files and gathered the type of information they are looking for, packaged it as “stuff in a box”, and began selling it. Income from his information products and coaching services is steadily increasing. He indicated that anyone can follow Dan Kennedy’s model for a business in a box and apply it to their own industry.

Once again, Chad Hines shared some Internet marketing techniques that he has been successfully using with his membership website. His favorite tool recently has been the use of contests to interact with members and to gain new members. If you would like more information on how to run a contest, you can reach Chad at chad@spib.com.

Larry Hines shared shared a number of examples of marketing activities that he has been using in his insurance business. His referrals have increased substantially since he has implemented specific referral strategies and not just relied on passive referrals from existing customers. One technique he recently implemented is that of rewarding people for referrals with discount coupons to a local restaurant. He also puts an advertising message on the restaurant’s coffee cups.

Gold member Chris Goegan, our resident Canadian and “Marketing Engineer,” is the winner of our new member contest for the last quarter of 2009. Chris will receive a new iPod Shuffle for his efforts.

Diamond members Stuart Spencer and Larry Hines were obviously excited about their experience at the Information Summit, held in Atlanta, in early November. They shared some of the highlights and what meant the most to them. In addition to the valuable information provided by the speakers, Stuart was amazed by the quality people he met from around the world.

Dan Kennedy teaches that you don’t need to work in an industry for 20 years to become a Guru. One of our Gold members, Brenton Woolworth, took that to heart and with only 2 years as a health insurance agent, he is now teaching other agents how to market their business. Way to go, Brenton!

Gold member Chad Hines presented some great information about Facebook, including why and how to set up a Fan Page. In addition, he provided tips on how you can easily create content for blogs and other sites to help you with your social marketing.

 September 30th, 2009

The September chapter meeting was jam-packed with money-making marketing information, tips and tricks. Larry Hines once again shared valuable marketing information. In addition, Terry Singleton and his web master, Sean Sloan, presented Terry’s new web site (www.termiteterry.com). They explained their thought process in designing their website and then solicited suggestions form the chapter members.

Jim Palmer, a Gold Member with the Philadelphia chapter and author of “The Magic of Newsletter Marketing - the Secrets of More Profits and Customers for Life,” was our guest speaker. He presented compelling arguments for having a monthly newsletter in print to send to both prospects and customers.  If you would like to discover how to build a fence around your customers and learn how to create a powerful newsletter, visit www.thenewsletterguru.com.

Rave Reviews

"I thought I'd share a little success story with you. A Los Angeles radio station was looking for a financial planner to speak with about the stock market situation. They found me from a Google search. Here's the cool part...they selected me because of the endorsements and testimonials I had on my website. I only recently put those up because of what I learned in our meetings and from reading Dan's books. This stuff really works!

In addition, the recent Quick Start conference call was great, and had loads of good information.  I appreciate the fact that Rick and Larry take the time to help others that are willing to learn.  In addition, thank you for the detailed critique of my flyer. I LOVE your headline.  The other suggestions were great too.  After staring at the same piece for several hours, my objectivity goes away.  It's great to have another set of eyes take a look at it."
- Michael Kortz, Financial Advisor

"I felt like a little kid today...filled with excitement and energy.  It was great being around other GKIC students and using Dan's philosophy for the Hot Seat, which allowed me to relate the information to my business.  It was the best 2 hour seminar I think I've ever attended.  I was able to get great ideas to implement immediately."
- Craig Valine

"I've been a Gold member of Glazer-Kennedy Inner Circle for about 8 months and I thoroughly enjoy the newsletter. The real life marketing pieces and critiques are invaluable as I seek to create my own marketing system. The audio CD's are very beneficial because we hear about many different businesses and the marketing efforts that are actually working for them not just ideas, but actual results.

The mastermind group is awesome on so many levels. First, it is such a pleasure and encouragement to be around other entrepreneurs who are motivated about their businesses and all-out searching for new ideas.. .that in itself is worth it. But beyond just the emotional charge, it is exciting to have other people focus on my business and to hear their ideas which are generally completely different than mine...and then we get to do the same for the others in the group... great stuff!

The chapter meetings are another learning experience and opportunity to network and hear from other business people. I am totally excited and fired up about working on my business, not just in it!"
- Gayle Brantuk, Glen-L Marine Designs

"Thank you for the Hot Seat opportunity at the chapter meeting.  In just 10 minutes, I was able to get what I had previously learned in 4 years of trial an error."
- Ed Knab, Global Springs, Ltd.

"Interestingly, one of the members came up to me after the meeting Wednesday and said, 'Wow, you took the heat rather well.'  Had this been 5 or 10 years ago, I might have justified every criticism with a reason/excuse and explained everything I'd done on the web site...and thereby missed one of the greatest tutoring sessions of my life.  It really didn't take any thick skin to listen to the comments...just the desire to want to perform better.  Being in the presence of great to extraordinary marketers, I considered an opportunity to learn and understand what I don't know or can't see because I'm too close to the project.

That's a long winded way to say thanks for the opportunity to advance my business."
- J. Michael Seely
